Marlene no recordaba haber arrancado el auto. Recordaba el ritmo, eso sí: cuatro golpes, un silencio de tres tiempos, la sonrisa de Valdebenito bajo la luz fluorescente. Pero cuando frenó en un semáforo de la Alameda e intentó reconstruir sus palabras exactas —¿había dicho «hermoso» o «precioso»?—, las sílabas ya no estaban.
