A master puppeteer was carving his killer's portrait when the killer struck first. Now, onstage in a Prague marionette theater, wooden hands reenact a murder that no one in the audience knows is real — except one man in the third row who can smell the blood through the wall.
La función debía comenzar a las ocho en punto, como cada noche desde hacía cuarenta años en el Teatro de Marionetas de Malá Strana. Hugo ocupó su butaca en la tercera fila, una de las pocas que quedaban libres, y abrió el programa: «Don Giovanni», adaptación para marionetas según la tradición praguense del siglo XVIII. El telón no subió a las ocho.
